Tuesday Technique Challenge August 15

So far this week my FAVORITE challenge has been Julie's Tuesday Technique challenge!  I can't WAIT to try it!!!  Here's her challenge:

To day I want to share one of my favourite techniques. A wet medium i.e. Glimmer Mist and Glad wrap i.e. plastic wrap, cling wrap.  Simply apply a liberal amount of your medium so it is very wet then place a layer of glad wrap over the top ensuring you have lots of wrinkles
Leave it until it is completely dry. I generally leave mine overnight. Then peel the glad wrap off
The wrinkles in the glad wrap leave beautiful patterns on your paper.  I have also done the same thing with Ranger Inks, which did not work as well
Color Crush Powders. Again not the best result
And Acrylic Paints. This one worked very well and I will definitely do this again
Here is a layout I created using this technique for the background
Hope you have time to give this a try. It is quick and easy to do. The only bug bear if you are like me is waiting for it to dry
Cheers
Julie

And a side note from DT Member Colleen who tried the technique...  Piece of advice don't use press and seal wrap, it tears the paper when you take it off.  Thanks for letting us know Colleen!

So...  what do YOU think of this technique?  I personally can't WAIT to try it!  Show us your creation using this technique in the forum at August 15 TTT Challenge

Meet the New Design Team - Terry Robson and Tracy Feely

Today we share about the last two members of the Design Team.
First is Terry Robson.

I have been doing these crazy obsession they call scrapbooking my whole life. I made my first scrapbook when I was seven. My mother and I took a trip to New York City. I saved every piece of memorabilia from that trip from subway tokens to the wrapper from the gum they gave me on the airplane. I bought a scrapbook and taped everything I collected on the pages. Even at that age, I journal every adventure we had. Journalism is really important to me. I started “creatively” scrapbooking in 1996. I walked into a craft store in Juneau, AK and noticed the fun papers and stickers they were selling. With a bag of papers, stickers, glue stick and a basic scrapbooking magazine, I sat in a hotel room and made my first page. I have been hooked ever since. After over 20 years, I still love scrapbooking and the creative release it provides. Recently we migrated from Alaska to Florida.  Yes I know...one extreme to another.  I am loving being warm and being close to the ocean, palm trees, and my beloved pink birds.  I'm married to the sweetest and "best-est" husband ever for over 30+ years.  My priority is doing two page layouts of our many adventures while traveling.

You can find more of Terry's work in her gallery at Scrapbook.com - https://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=galleries&u=805085

And last but not least is Tracy Feely.

My name is Tracy and I live in Central Florida with my husband Gerry. I have 3 stepchildren and 3 grandchildren which you'll see in most of my layouts. I'm retired now so I have plenty of time to scrap, which I've been doing for abut 10 years now. I also enjoy card making and altering things occasionally .  I'm excited to be here in our new home and looking forward to working with everyone.

You can find more of Tracy's work on her blog at http://tracysscrappyhideaway@blogspot.com
Don't forget to leave some love for Terry and Tracy in the comments below!  And be sure to check out our challenges at the Creative Inspirations Forum!

Meet the Design Team - Julie Kairl and Karen Zabuska

First up today is Julie Kairl.

I have been paper crafting for the last 15 years, starting when my daughter asked me to attend a card making class with her.  Card making became my hobby for a couple of years and then I went to a scrapbooking class. Now I spend way more time scrapbooking than card-making. I am retired and spend most of my time involved in my paper crafting hobby one way or the other.  I teach 2 classes a week in my home town of Adelaide in South Australia and love it.  I don’t think I have a particular style but I do love to try different things and any new techniques or products I happen across, that take my fancy, will generally find their way into one of my projects.  I have one daughter and one grand-daughter who find themselves on 90% of my layouts. My husband is camera shy so it is very rare that I can get a photo of him to scrap.  I am very excited to be joining the Design Team here at Creative Inspirations and getting to know everyone here  Cheers, Julie.  You can find more of Julie's work on her blog  here.

And next up today is Karen Zabuska,

Hi everyone, I live in Southern California with my 2 adopted Beagles, Shabby & Jaimieson.  I have 2 grown sons who I refer as to "The Men". Both of them in the last 7 months have made me a Grandmother.  Gavin is 8 month & Atlas is 1 week old. I am a retired High School teacher after 32 years of teaching.  I have been retired 4 years now.  I am a single Mom who raised my "Men" by myself.  I enjoy scrapping, making cards, some altered Art & have gotten into Quilting.  You can find more of Karen's creations on her blog at http://www.calmcreations.blogpost.com/

Please be sure to welcome Julie and Karen by leaving them some love in the comments below!
